Look Beyond The Heart
About the charity.
The aim of this support group is for adults and children who have had all kinds of transplants, and are finding it hard to deal with issues to do with the aftercare of their surgery. They just need a friend who is there to listen to them and who has the same kind of understanding towards each other.
We would also like to be able to provide funding for counselling and art therapy, physical therapy and equipment that will enable homecoming easier for each adult and child.
In the last few months Look Beyond the Heart has been working really hard to generate a Sponsorship Package for all those that feel able to support the charity. Thankfully we are now able to say that a Sponsorship Package for Look Beyond the Heart is now available.
The aim of the Sponsorship Package is to identify people who are prepared to run events in support of Look Beyond the Heart. This will help to generate additional funds to support patients and their family post transplantation.
We are also at present; planning to give our Support Package to all the Transplant Units so they can issue them to each patient having a Transplant, so they know additional help is available from our charity.
In addition to that, we have had another bear designed made, and we have named it Zoe Bear. We had this bear designed in memory of a little girl called Zoe who sadly died a year after her Heart Transplant. This was done with the idea that we could have two pen pal teams for our Support Package, which we hope to give to each Children’s Transplant Unit. Team Alfie and Team Zoe will help to support each other, as well as keeping the memory of Zoe alive for her family and friends.
The next aim for Look Beyond the Heart is to get Alfie made in to a puppet, so we can visit all the Children’s Transplant Units, and not only cheer them up but make them understand a bit more about their Transplant.
If you are interested in helping Look Beyond the Heart, please contact us and we will send you a Sponsorship Package with all the information.
Thank you for your help.

Our next aim is to get Look Beyond The Heart registered as a charity, because if we become a charity we can help so many more adults and children who need support and care after their Transplant.
To do that, we have thought of an idea that we hope will work. We have called it the One Pound Challenged. The idea of this is to get as many members of the public to donate one pound to Look Beyond the Heart during transplant awareness week in July. Hopefully people will be kind enough to do this, because we need to rise over £5000 to become a recognised charity.
If you feel you can help go to our donation page and donate, we only need just ONE POUND from you, so come on help us make this happened so we can support all those who need aftercare following a Transplant.
Sadly people don't realise or understand just how much a Transplant affects the patient or their family, and I feel if everyone can just give a little, we can have the means to spread the word to members of the public, as well as help those who are trying to face a new life and new challenges with their families.
